Manchester City welcome Crystal Palace to the Eithad Stadium for their fourth round Capital One Cup fixture on Wednesday, after a drab draw in the Manchester derby during the weekend.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini might have been held to a draw in the Old Trafford during the weekend, but he has yet to move on from the match as the main talking point of the pre-match press conference revolved around the Manchester derby and former Red Devils captain Gary Nevillea s column on the match.

Pellegrini begged to differ from Nevillea s opinion of the first half at Old Trafford, and went on to refute the idea of a more defensive approach for the away fixtures in the Champions League.

a I like it when we defend well but what I dona t like is playing games away and playing for a draw. Ita s not my mentality and, in the first half on Sunday, we didna t do it.

a In the Champions League wea ll be the same way. Wea ll have the mentality of a big team. Wea ll always go for the win. We have different ways to play, it depends on the players we pick.a

The Chilean confirmed that there hasna t been any change to his injury list from the weekend but would like to give his young players a run in, even hinting that Kelechi Iheanacho starting against Crystal Palace.

a Wea ll see tomorrow if Kelechi will start. As a manager, ita s important for every club to always buy good players and then to work to develop young players who can arrive into the first-team,” he said.

Magical Silva

.

David Silva had been in inspired form for the Citizens, but will have to wait for a few more weeks to demonstrate his magic for the blue Manchester side. But it wona t be easy for him to regain his place, especially with the form their new signing Kevin De Bruyne has been demonstrating, during Silvaa s absence.
