Oscar Set To Miss Copa America Owing To A Training Ground Injury

Agony for Chelsea FCa s star midfielder Oscar, as he has been left out of the 23 member Brazil squad for the Copa America which is scheduled to happen next month. The national team manager Dunga confirmed the news today.

Oscar did not feature in Chelseaa s game against Crystal Palace on Sunday which the team won 1-0 and clinched the Premier League title. The club doctors have reported that the Brazilian youngster got injured while training with the club.

Regarding Oscara s exclusion from the squad, Dunga said: “We spoke with Jose Mourinho and the doctor at Chelsea. Oscar’s recuperation will take time and he won’t be at his best during the Copa America.

“After the Copa America we have the World Cup qualifiers, and we thought it best for him to be ready for the qualifiers.”

The Brazil squad features four Premier League players which include Oscara s Chelsea team mates Willian and Felipe Luis. Liverpool FCa s Phillip Coutinho and Manchester Citya s Fernandinho also has been included by the Brazilian manager.

Dunga has decided to call up FC Portoa s Casemiro as a late replacement for Oscar in the squad.

The Squad: Jefferson, Diego Alves, Marcelo Grohe, David Luiz, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Miranda, Fabinho, Marcelo, Filipe Lu s, Danilo, Luiz Gustavo, Fernandinho, Elias, Souza, Everton Ribeiro, Douglas Costa, Willian, Philippe Coutinho, Neymar, Diego Tardelli, Robinho, Firmino.
