Mourinho’s Fiery Interview With Sky Sports Upsets Rivals BT Sport

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s recent interview with Sky Sports in the program ‘Goals on Sunday’ has upset BT Sport as the latter are paying him to promote their brand.

The Portuguese had an explosive interview a few days ago after his side’s game against Burnley which had a mix of almost everything. Chelsea were denied two penalties and had Nemanja Matic sent of after overreacting to a dangerous tackle from Ashley Barnes. Although Mourinho’s interview was fiery and captured the imagination of many, Sky Sports’ rivals BT Sport aren’t happy with what transpired. His interview trumped BT Sport’s exclusive interview with Paul Gascoigne.

In fact, according to a report by the Telegraph, BT Sport are now considering whether to continue with Mourinho as their ambassador. They are apparently probing Mourinho’s contract to see any breach in the terms and conditions.

Although he won’t mind it too much, it is certainly something that Mourinho could have avoided.

Skysports presenter Chris Kamara wrote in his column that Mourinho had given him the word for a possible interview,a Josea s been promising me for a while that hea d come on the show but hea s never really had the chance with Chelsea either playing a midweek fixture in the Champions League or Capital One Cup matches.

a I wasna t expecting him to contact me but he did on Saturday. He was obviously upset by what happened during the Burnley game and he wanted to come on the show and have his say, which I agreed to.

a We knew on Saturday evening this was a huge possibility, but until Jose texted me at 9.45am on Sunday morning to say he was in the car and on his way to Sky Studios, there was a small doubt.

a He could have easily changed his mind and decided that he didna t need to say anything. Ita s box office when someone like Jose comes on and we knew the whole world would be interested in what he has got to say. We honestly thought someone may talk him out of it but no, true to his word, he came and the floor was his.a

Mourinho’s side will next face Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final and will hope to put the disappointment of the draw behind them. Tottenham, on the other hand, will want to repeat their Cup winning antics of 2008 when they beat Avram Grant’s Chelsea 2-1 to lift the trophy, their only silverware in 15 years.
