Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho fanned the flames of his rivalry with Arsenal FC counterpart Arsene Wenger by saying to reporters that he would like it if Olympiacos qualified from Group F in the Champions League instead of Arsenal.

There is no love lost between the pair, with the two even being involved in a shoving match last season, but this latest jab from Mourinho will definitely leave Wenger and Gunners’ fans fuming. Although Mourinho does clarify that it’s only because his compatriot and good friend, Marco Silva, is the manager of Olympiacos.

a I would always like English teams to qualify, first,” he told reporters, according to The Daily Star.

a Arsenal are in a group where a kid friend of mine is the manager of Olympiacos and it would be fantastic for the kida s career to go through.

a So I have to be honest and say that I would like the kid and Olympiacos to go on, and we know that Bayern go through for sure.”

.

Mourinho did go on to say that the chance for the Gunners to qualify was still there for the taking. a The reality is that Arsenal can still do it,” the Portuguese added. “Arsenal can perfectly go to Athens and win.”

Arsenal FC are 3 points behind second placed Olympiacos having already lost to them 3-2, and will need to overturn this margin if they want to qualify from their group. Bayern have already qualified from the group while Dinamo Zagreb find themselves out of the reckoning.
