The Chelsea FC manager was emotional as he thanked the Blues’ fans for their vocal support of him, with Dynamo Kyiv beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a wonder-goal from Willian
If owner Roman Abramovich had any doubts about retaining Jos Mourinho despite the nightmare start Chelsea FC have made to the season, the Blues’ fans showed they had absolutely none. The Stamford Bridge crowd were vociferous and unequivocal in their support of the Special One, with chants of ‘Jos Mourinho!’ ringing out on several occasions at the stadium.
The events on the pitch were even more pleasing, with the Portuguese manager pointing out that the key difference on Wednesday evening was his players’ refusal to cave in mentally after conceding a relatively late equaliser. Willian received praise in particular for another stellar display, with the Brazilian heavily involved in the first goal before scoring the winner with a stunning free-kick.
Mourinho thankful for support from Chelsea FC fans

Speaking after the 2-1 win, Mourinho expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support, saying that it was ‘not normal’ for them to do so given the negative results of late. The Portuguese is quoted by the Guardian as saying:
“To have the whole stadium supporting me in a difficult time is an unforgettable moment in my career. When I came back to the club and we played the first match at home against Hull City, the way the stadium welcomed me was amazing. But not comparable to today. Today came in a moment where the results have not been good. It comes in a moment where people are asking for my a enda .

“The fans recognise Ia m a good pro and have brought them great memories. Until my last day in this club, if that is in four yearsa time, 10 years or 15 years, I will give everything to them.”
Willian receives praise for another stellar performance
The Brazilian has been the Blues’ best player this season, and has been one of the very few names that has rightly been omitted when the long list of negatives for Chelsea FC have been discussed. It was the former Shakhtar Donetsk man who once again made the difference with his incessant running to close down players and spaces, his contribution towards creating chances in an attacking sense, as well as his spectacular goal that gave his team a hugely important victory.
“If somebody deserves the winning goal, I think Willian is the perfect [candidate]” Mourinho told Chelsea TV after the match. “His performance was complete. Because [of] the defensive work, the transitions when the team loses the ball, closing the space inside, recovering the ball, having the initiative like in the first goal.
“He gave the Portuguese left-back (Antunes) a very difficult match. Then having the confidence and power to score that magnificent goal, I think beautiful from him.”
