Mourinho Dubs Sunday’s Final As The ‘Most Important’ Of His Career

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is yet to win a trophy in his second spell as manager and has claimed that tomorrow’s final is more important to him than any other final has been in his career.

In addition to not winning a trophy at Chelsea, Mourinho is yet to taste success in three years as his Real Madrid side went trophyless in Mourinho’s final season there.

Mourinho said, a This cup final is the most important cup final of my career,a said Mourinho. a More important than the Champions League. More important than the other cups Ia ve played before.

a Do I look stupid? Ita s because ita s the next one. The next one. I just think about this game. We have a final to win on Sunday and nothing else matters.a

Mourinho’s first trophy at Chelsea was way back in 2005 and it was the League cup back then. The trophy started a highly successful spell at the club and Sunday’s final could be a similar launchpad for the blues. Mourinho however went to add that he doesn’t know where his past medals are, a My medals are somewhere at home, I dona t know where they are. The most important game of my career is the next one.a

Mourinho still angry about Matic incident

The Portuguese was still furious about the Nemanja Matic incident and said that the quality of refereeing in England was supposed to raise the bar for refereeing elsewhere, but that hasn’t been the case this season, a I have, for example, a very important newspaper in my country.

a After the Burnley game the headline was: a We thought this was only possible in Portugal, never in England.a The depth of this message, you understand? How deep these words can be? This is something English football cannot lose.

a Hopefully the final is a good final. If you do it week after week, Ia m not saying a losinga because the affinity English football has took a long time to build and will take a long time to lose that credibility. We must take care of our football.”

He also added that it will be wrong for a player like Barnes or anyone else for that matter to escape the ban and continue playing, a For example, you lose credibility when a player like Matic is suspended, and another player (Barnes) that can play this weekend can play this weekend.

a I dona t think you can have any doubt that all around the world people open their mouths with surprise at how this can be possible.a
