The dynamics of Jose Mourinho, in one word. is not egoistic but cynosure, ever present in the thick of things. The Chelsea manager has attracted his fair share of controversy ever since he pointed out fingers at the officiating bodies. Mourinho, believes that Chelsea have been victims of poor refereeing, which has cause the London side to drop points. In context of all this, Mourinho, blatant as ever, claimed ‘scandal’, after Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas, was yellow carded for simulation, in what seemed to be a perfectly normal foul in the penalty box. Mourinho, further increased the tone of his controversial comments and stated that there is a ‘hidden campaign’ against Chelsea. Mourinho, pointed out that TV pundits, journalists and even referees were part of this scam against Chelsea. Mourinho, to render poor decision making called for video assistance of referees. However, the FA have been keeping tabs on Mr. Mourinho’s increasing intent of controversy and had slapped a charge on the former Porto manager,

Following the charge, Mourinho decided to bail out of media presentations and has ever since stuck on what appears to be a ‘media blackout’.Chelsea feel that Mourinho would only risk saying something that would cause further problems with the FA if he was to speak openly to the media at this time. There is also a sense that, while managers are expected to fulfill numerous media commitments, they are almost discouraged to speak candidly because of the risk of FA disciplinary action.

Mourinho, was given until 6pm on Tuesday, to notify the FA wether he wants to dispute the rulings that his remarks brought after the Southampton game or implied bias by the officials.

However, Mourinho came out on Monday and decided to formally contest the FA Charge.

With the support of Chelsea, he wants to contest that charge and a hearing will now take place where the case will be considered by an FA regulatory commission.

Meanwhile, Mourinho’s Chelsea survived a scare against Newcastle United and an inspired second half performance handed the London based club, all three points. Mourinho’s Chelsea currently reside at the top of Premier League, and are two points ahead of second placed Manchester City, following their 1-1 draw against Everton.
