Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria Has Agreed Personal Terms With PSG Ahead Of Move

Manchester United’s A?59.7 million man, Angel Di Maria has agreed personal terms with French champions, Paris Saint Germain. Di Maria has been heavily linked with a move to the French capital, and according to Le Parisien, a five-year contract has been agreed.

Di Maria, had a dismal first season at Old Trafford, after his record-breaking move from Real Madrid, with his form showing a genuine low and injuries preventing the player from settling into a more physical English Premier League.

The Parc des Princes outfit has reportedly agreed to match, Di Maria’s 200,000-a-week wages at United, however, a fee for the transfer is yet to be agreed, with the Paris club, willing to pay as much as A?47 million for the services of the Argentine Winger.

Depay the ‘Angel’ that Manchester United need?

Manchester United have already bolstered their side, with the signing of four top players in Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian, and according to The Guardian, manager Louis Van Gaal may be prepared to let go of the mercurial Argentine. They report:

The A?59.7m British record signing, who arrived from Real Madrid last summer, endured a difficult first season at Old Trafford and United, bolstered by the arrival of Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger, are now prepared to think of allowing the 27-year-old to leave.

PSG had missed out on Di Maria, last summer, due to financial fair play restrictions, however, with the relaxation of the FFP rules, the French side is said to continue with their free spending and land the winger. Di Maria’s poor form last season, saw him being benched by Van Gaal towards last seasons end, however, this has not deterred the Argentine from stating that he would like to stay at Old Trafford and prove himself.

Second Coming of Di Maria?

After a horrendous, first season with the Manchester club, that saw him being benched by Dutch manager, Louis Van Gaal, Di Maria might be looking to prove his critics wrong, and become the player that United shelled a British-record A?59.7 million for.

However, considering the physicality of the Premier League, not suited for a player of Di Maria’s style and relatively fragile body, a move to long-term admirers Paris Saint Germain would be in the best interest of all the parties involved. With Manchester United able to recoup most of their A?59.7 million, a deal could definitely be on the cards.
