Luis Nania s career at Manchester United will reach its conclusion within the next few days with a Medical at Fenerbahce on July 5th. .

After impressing on loan at Sporting Lisbon last year, Luis Nani had good reason to believe that his Manchester United career could get back on track. He scored 12 goals in 35 assists and was pivotal in assisting Sporting to claim the Portuguese Cup.

However, Nani was been unequivocally informed that he had no part in Louis Van Gaala s plans to mount a serious title challenge next season. With Manchester United competing across four tournaments in 2015-2016, it was expected that Nani would be afforded a chance to impress, owing to the requirement for squad depth. Instead, Nani looks set to end his eight year stay at Old Trafford, with a medical at Fenerbahce to seal a 3.5 Million Pound transfer.

The Portuguese Winger was an exciting prospect when he first arrived at Manchester United in 2007 for 17 Million Pounds, with many tipping him to have an immense an impact as Cristiano Ronaldo. Nani possessed a similar set of skills and talent as the current Ballon Da Or Winner, albeit accompanied with erratic consistency. While Ronaldo went on to become a legend at Old Trafford and at the Bernabeau, Nani has often flattered to deceive, leading many United Fans to exult in ecstasy and lament in frustration at his obvious talent, yet unrealised potential.

The winger signed a 5 year contract with Manchester United in September 2013, under the short and disastrous reign of David Moyes, who was impressed with the playersa s displays in training. However, a series of injuries and poor form continued, culminating in the player being sent out on loan last year to Sporting after Moyes was sacked. So ignominious was Nani in Louis Van Gaala s plans, that Manchester United even paid the majority of his salary as part of the deal to ship him off to Portugal.

Now, the beginning of a new season and higher expectations, exciting young talents like Memphis Depay and Adnan Januzaj, along with the resurgent form of Ashley Young have all combined to ensure that Nani has been left out in the cold again.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Fenerbahce has posted a statement on their official website, stating : a Fenerbahce has opened negotiations with Luis Nani and his club, Manchester United, to acquire the player. Nani will come to Istanbul on Sunday . the 5th of July, to perform the medical examination.a

Nani has made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils, winning the Premier League four times and the Champions League once. He was also voted as the Manchester United Playersa Player of the Yeara in 2010-2011.
