Manchester United have received a timely boost with the news that Michael Carrick is may be fit for Liverpool FC game. David de Gea could also be expected to feature in the game after the Spanish manager Del Bosque stated that the player is ready to play again. Liverpool FC fans can also relax following news that Christian Benteke has come out unscathed after being withdrawn at half-time during Belgium duty.

Sergio Romero’s last outing against Swansea City has made the United fans anxious about the availability of David de Gea after his move to Real Madrid collapsed under bizarre circumstances on the transfer deadline day.

De Gea’s national team manager, Vicente Del Bosque has since stated that the player is mature enough to put everything that happened behind him and focus on playing for United again.

Van Gaal may very well chose to pick the Spaniard ahead of Romero as United welcome Liverpool FC at Old Trafford.

Another player who was in danger of missing the tie was Michael Carrick, who now looks likely to be fit for the clash.

Carrick had returned from the international duty after picking up a calf injury, but England manager Roy Hogdson has confirmed he won’t be out for long.

.

Liverpool FC were also anxious at the possibility of another attacking crisis after going through majority of the last season with the same anxiety.

Christian Benteke had missed the first Belgian game in the break due to injury, but played in the next. However, having been withdrawn at half-time in the game, Liverpool FC fans feared the worst. But the Belgian manager confirmed that the move was only a tactical one.

Liverpool FC will be without Philipe Coutinho who is suspended and will hope Jordan Henderson is fit for the tie. However, there is no news as of yet, about whether the Liverpool FC captain will feature in the tie or not.
