Manchester City To Prepare A?30m Bid For Arsenal Midfielder Jack Wilshere

In their latest bid to increase the ratio of their a home-growna players, Manchester City are said to be preparing a large bid for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

City, who have been desperately looking to sign some English players this season, have already had a A?40 million for forward Raheem Sterling rejected by Liverpool.

The Manchester a based club are now said to have turned their attention towards the Arsenal midfielder, as they reportedly prepare a A?30 million bid for Wilshere, according to the Daily Mirror . .

Although Wilshere has had his fitness problems over the years, he is viewed as one of the best young midfielders in England, at the moment, and has proved his worth this weekend, with two stunning goals for his national side, in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Slovenia.

Although, Wilshere had already said last week that he would not want to move to Manchester City just to fulfil the a home-growna playersa quota, it would be interesting to see whether he takes the move, especially because of the sheer competition in the middle of the park, at the Emirates.

With Arsenal already having quality midfielders like Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla, and Mesut Ozil, the 23-year-old England international may find it a bit difficult to start every match.

However, it is difficult to see him getting that at Manchester City as well, with the Blues using their famous rotation policy, for most players.

Wilshere recently got into a bit of trouble with the FA, after leading the Arsenal fans to make taunting chants at cross-town rivals Tottenham Hotspur, during an open-bus tour, where the players and fans celebrated their FA Cup victory. He was fined A?40,000 for his actions.

Incidentally, this was not the first time that Wilshere has been fined for something like this. After the FA Cup win in the 2013/14 season, he had done something similar, which had also attracted the FAa s attention.

Given Manchester Citya s willingness to sign a a home-growna player this season, it seems unlikely that Arsenal would accept the bid (if it happens), in the first go. City might also go for a cash plus player deal for Wilshere, much like their earlier unsuccessful negotiations with Liverpool, for Sterling.

City have already offered the likes of forwards Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic, or Alvaro Negredo to Arsenal, in exchange for Wilshere a much like how they offered these players to Liverpool, in return for Sterling.
