Liverpool FC To Replace Raheem Sterling With Pedro Rodriguez: Catalan Media

Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers has identified FC Barcelona star Pedro Rodriguez as the man to replace Raheem Sterling with Manchester City look to push ahead with the deal following lifting of FFP sanctions.

According Catalan newspaper SPORT, despite having just signed his new contract with FC Barcelona until 2019 that contains a 150 million Euro release clause, Pedro is looking to move elsewhere with his first team chances restricted at the club following the arrival of Luis Suarez from Liverpool FC

While PSG have been leading the chase in recent weeks for the player, as per the report, Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC have expressed a keen interest in the pacy 27-year-old.

The report says that Pedro is said to be interested in a move to either Liverpool or Arsenal over other European clubs, as he feels his style of play will work well in England.

The report went onto add that the player prefers Liverpool FC over Arsenal, if given the chance to join the Merseyside club as he would get more first team action being the cluba s replacement for want-away forward Raheem Sterling, who, it is expected will join Manchester City after the club had FFP sanctions lifted off them.

Pedro has been specifically mentioned by manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Sterling as per the report.

However, the report goes onto add that if they player is promised a fair go at the first team spot at FC Barcelona by Luis Enrique, he would prefer to stay at FC Barcelona over moving to either of the clubs.

Well, it remains to be seen what transpires in the Pedro saga, but, it does look like the silly season is once again working it’s magic.
