League Cup: Hull City Boss Steve Bruce Looking To Go Giant Killing In Manchester City Clash

Hull City would be looking to their incredible run in the FA Cup two seasons back, to motivate themselves, as they prepare for a rather difficult away trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City.

.

Manager Steve Bruce has moulded his side into a very organised unit, and being one of the best teams in the Championship right now, would love to pose a challenge for the highest ranked team in England — Manchester City.

Although the Tigers would have to travel to the Citizen’s stadium, Bruce is looking at the positive side of the draws, in which big names like Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC and Manchester United have all been knocked out. The only big teams left in the draw at this stage are Manchester City and Liverpool FC.

a Once you get to this stage Man City will be looking at it and thinking Arsenal are out, Chelsea are out, Man U are out,a Bruce wasquoted saying in Manchester Evening News.

a So therea s a path forward for them and we can only think the same thing. a If we can mount a great upset then wea ll give ourselves a chance, which we did 18 months ago in the FA Cup.a

Hull City’s amazing run come to a stop

Bruce’s side have had an amazing run that has seen them reach the 4th spot in the Championship right now, as they challenge for promotion. The Tigers had even been on a 14-match unbeaten streak.

However, a 2-0 loss to Derby County at home has brought them back to earth ahead of the Manchester City game. It would be interesting to see whether Hull City can recover quickly from this win and pose a stern challenge for Manchester City, or whether they get disheartened by it and wilt under the pressure of the City attacks.
