Kun Aguero Fires Warning Shot At Chelsea, Says City Have Chased Down Bigger Leads Before

Manchester Citya s talismanic striker Sergio Aguero believes Chelseaa s lead at the top of the Premier League table can be chased down. Aguero, who scored two goals in the championsa last outing, was struggling for form since getting a crushing injury earlier in the season.

The Argentine has now revealed that he is feeling good and believes his team has every chance of getting one over Chelsea and winning the league again.

“We were worse off in past seasons we still won and I was always convinced we’d be champions,” he told the club’s official website.

“There is a long way to go and a lot of games to play so anything is possible. Right now, it’s anyone’s title and it’s not just two sides competing – there are many teams that are still in the hunt.

Back in 2012, City recovered as many as eight points in three games, before famously winning the title on goal difference. At this moment in time, they are seven points off the Blues, but they have at times shown their ability to fight when they are down.

Earlier in the season, they trailed Chelsea by five points and had closed the gap down by early January. Nevertheless, their inconsistency got the better of them again, and a four game run without a win has cost them.

The Argentine, however, reiterated that 2012 story, citing it as evidence for his teama s undying belief and perseverance as the season draws to a close.

“Arsenal and United are back on their feet, Southampton are not far behind and Liverpool and Spurs have all shown good form, too.

“I believe this will be one of the most highly contested Premier Leagues of recent years and we will be giving everything to retain our title.”

In the winter transfer window, the Citizens bought Wilfried Bony from Swansea City for a 36 million and the Argentine believes his addition could turn the race in the Championsa favour.

“I think Wilfried Bony is a valuable addition to our ranks for the final months of the season. We have a lot of quality in our team which makes things very competitive and it will remain that way.”
