Jose Mourinho Takes Pride In Roman Abramovich’s Support; Hits Back At Capello

Jose Mourinho has thanked his employer Roman Abramovich for the faith that he still apparently has in him, despite the chances of Chelsea FC winning a piece of silverware this season becoming slimmer with the passage of time.

Chelsea FC have managed only two wins in eight games in the Premier League this season including a surprise victory over title contenders Arsenal and can only hope for a Champions League berth as the Manchester club and Football Association Cup winners have already positioned themselves firmly at the pinnacle of the table.

.

The former Real Madrid manager admitted that being given the vote of confidence by players and management had filled him with pride and pledged to work hard. However, he claimed to be oblivious to the reason behind their stutters and added that his side would even clinch their second Champions League title this season.

a This fills me with pride. It shows the faith Roman Abramovich has in a manager who has won three Premier League titles. I thank him and will continue to work hard. Chelsea’s results are really poor at this time.

“I can’t, and have no desire of hiding the truth. I’m struggling to come up with an explanation. However, I can assure you we are working harder than ever and we will improve. We also have the Champions League that we arena t giving up on.a

Fabio Capello stated in an interview that his Portuguese counterpart could affect the children in a bad way, but it was the Chelsea manager who raised eyebrows with his comeback. Continued failures seem to have had a humbling effect on him. He appeared to have forgotten his war of words with Arsene Wenger as he stated that he had never disrespected his colleagues.

a I read what Fabio Capello said. I think that a coach with his experience would have been better served to talk about football without mentioning the work of a colleague. Maybe I should have commented on his work with the English national team or Russia, but Ia ve never done that. I prefer to show respect for my colleagues. I’d rather talk about Capello and his great career that has been full of success.a

The Stamford Bridge side play host to fellow relegation battlers in Aston Villa after the international break and Jose Mourinho will want to haul his side back to the top half of the table as early as possible to avoid becoming the laughing stock.
