The Chelsea FC manager has already spent over a decade managing at the top level, but Jos Mourinho is hungry for more success and says he intends to manage into his 70s like Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Blues’ boss has spent around 13 years as a first-team manager, winning every major competition available in club football more than once. However, Mourinho does not intend to stop any time soon, with the 52-year-old expressing his desire to continue managing into his 70s.
“I think I am in evolution”
Despite achieving so much success over the past decade and more, Mourinho insists he is continuing to grow as a manager and is better than he was a decade ago. The Chelsea FC manager is quoted by England’s Mail Online as saying: “I see myself going into the 70s. Not for ever and ever, but while I have conditions for it.
“It’s a job where experience is very, very important. With players there is a moment where their experience has a fight with the physical condition; managers, no. Unless you lose your appetite and that’s a different story.

“But I see myself now as better than 10 years ago. I think I am in evolution, not in stability. I don’t see that I change for the worse in any of my qualities. I’m feeling very good.”
Unique challenge for Mourinho
Although Mourinho has traversed Europe winning every major trophy he has ever competed in, the former Real Madrid has often been accused of short-term thinking and questioned about his ability to stay at a club long-term.
Indeed, by his own admission, the Portuguese has, in the past, been keen to move on from one experience to the next as he aimed to win Europe’s three biggest leagues: England, Italy and Spain. Having achieved that, and having returned to the club where he feels most at home, there is a sense that Mourinho is now a settled man.
As the Chelsea FC manager enters his third year at Stamford Bridge since his return, there is an expectation this time around – particularly given where Chelsea are as a club – that Mourinho will stay the distance and build a legacy with the Londoners in somewhat similar vein to his friend Sir Alex at Manchester United and foe ArsA?ne Wenger at Arsenal.

It is a unique challenge for Mourinho, particularly in a time where the ever-increasing revenues of his main title rivals mean that he will have an extremely difficult job on his hands to keep the Blues at the top.
Whether or not he is able to keep Chelsea FC on the path of success year after year remains to be seen. For now, however, Blues fans can rest assured that they have one of the best managers in the world at the helm for the foreseeable future.
