Griezmann rubbishes Chelsea FC transfer rumours, insists he is happy in Spain

Atl tico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has rubbished suggestions of a transfer away from La Liga, insisting that he is happy with football and life in the Spanish capital.

The Frenchman has been in fine form once again this season, and is comfortably Atl tico Madrid’s most important attacking player, despite the signing of former FC Porto hitman Jackson Mart nez. Griezmann already has 11 goals so far this season in all competitions, including four goals in five Champions League appearances, and has been known to be coveted by Premier League champions Chelsea FC.

However, the France international claims he is happy in Spain — where he has lived since he was 14 — and has no intention of moving to a different league in the near future.

Griezmann happy at Atl tico Madrid

Antoine Griezmann has emerged as one of the best attacking players in Europe over the past couple of seasons, and unsurprisingly, has been linked to a whole host of European clubs — including Chelsea FC.

However, speaking to French TV show Canal Football Club (via The Guardian), the Frenchman insisted he is happy with life in Spain. “I do not feel the need to play in Ligue 1, nor in the Premier League or in Serie A,” Griezmann said. “I am in Spain a Ia m happy. Life here, football, I like it all.”

Chelsea FC not in a position to sign the Frenchman

Unfortunately for Chelsea FC, the club is not currently in a position to sign Europe’s top attacking talents, much less talents chased by multiple top clubs. Antoine Griezmann has also been linked with Bayern Munich, who will be looking for replacements for the likes of Franck Rib ry and Arjen Robben in the near future.

The Blues are unlikely to secure Champions League football for next season, and this could prove to be one of the biggest obstacles in signing potentially world-class footballers. The Stamford Bridge outfit will likely have to grossly overspend if they are to land someone like Griezmann.
