FC Barcelona suffered a damaging defeat at the hands Malaga just three days prior to the vital game against Man City. And coach Luis Enrique has asked his players to change their mentality to come back to the winning ways again.
Man City were knocked out by FC Barcelona at the same stage of the Champions League last year and the Catalans were termed as the clear favorites to progress this year again. But FC Barcelona attackers looked out of depth on last weekend and question marks are now being raised about their attitude.
And Luis Enrique believes that little change in approach would help them recover on time.
“Things didn’t come off against MA?laga. Now we have to think about City. Both teams have the same aim”, said the FC Barcelona coach.
“The players are aware that there’s a long way to go. We lost one match, it wasn’t a catastrophe. Right now I’d happily take eleven straight wins and one defeat”, added Luis Enrique.
“At this club we have to win every competition we enter. Any slip up, no matter which game it is in, is a problem
“Man City have the ability to take the ball from us and keep it, they have the quality to do that. It’ll be an interesting match because both clubs have the same aim, which is to win our domestic league and the Champions League”, Luis Enrique emphasized.
The FC Barcelona coached also heaped praise on Man City attacker Kun Aguero. “If we analyse the City squad, we can see that he’s one of their special players. However, anyone who plays for them will be a quality player”
FC Barcelona players Gerard Pique and Leo Messi, and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas were seen together at a casino on last weekend. And the presence of Messi in the casino has caused a big stir amongst FC Barcelona fans. But Luis Enrique played down the importance of this incidence.
“I’m not interested in gossip. I just want to focus on football,a the coach said.
