Arsenal FC have failed to sign a single senior outfield player throughout the summer and all the signs thus far indicate that it will remain that way.

There has been calls from almost all section of the fans for signing a defensive midfielder and a striker, but a deal now seems unfathomable.

Reliable BBC journalist David Ornstein announced on Twitter that any incomings at the Emirates look unlikely and the journalist has a reputation for being correct more often than not.

The Gunners had been linked with moves for Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani for large parts of the transfer window, but to the disappointment of Arsenal FC fans, the club would continue with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck as the only two recognized strikers in their ranks.

The North London outfit are also the only club in Europe’s top five leagues to have not signed any outfield players. Enraged and disgruntled fans took to Twitter to express their concerns after the club failed to strengthen to challenge for the Premier League title. Arsene Wenger bore the brunt of fans who feel that the current squad is incapable of challenging for the league title.

Here are some of the best tweets from from Arsenal FC fans:

Very unlikely #AFC will make any signings today. Explored options but nothing was close & almost certainly no ins or outs now #DeadlineDay

It’s funny because even Barcelona, who are banned from signing anybody, signed more players than Arsenal this summer

Signing players is overrated anyway. Over here at Arsenal, we’re hipsters.

Arsenal – are going into a season with. DMs – Coquelin, Arteta, Flamini. Strikers – Giroud, Welbeck. You can’t justify that.

Man city will win the league. Barcelona will win the champions league. Arsenal win the net spend league.

Arsenal sitting on A?100m in the bank is a waste. That’s almost enough to buy a half-time meal for two at the Emirates.

Biggest con of the last 6 years as an Arsenal fan is being convinced Wenger has finally got a plan.

Arsenal fans pay super club prices & have a manager on a super club salary but clearly can’t compete with them. Radical overhaul needed.
