Mourinho Suggests Players Should Contemplate Idea Of Football, Believes Some Players Are Working Harder Than Others

Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho has again snapped at his players, insisting that they must instill “unbelievable passion” in themselves, and believes few of the squad members are letting others down with half-hearted performances.

Chelsea were condemned to their ninth defeat of the season by Leicester City on Monday, leaving the reigning champions just one point off the relegation zone, in 16th position. Mourinho lashed out at his players after the defeat and said he felt ‘betrayed’ by his players.

Demands unbelievable passion

The Chelsea manager hasn’t halted his run of publicly hitting out at his players, as the Portuguese demands “unbelievable passion” from the squad, while also suggesting that the players must contemplate their idea of football.

“Some of them need to rethink the way they live Chelsea, they live football, they live their job,” Mourinho told Chelsea TV.

“Chelsea is big, football is more than a job, it’s a passion. I think every match on the pitch you should live with an unbelievable passion.”

Chelsea vs Porto

Not playing as a team

While Chelsea’s performances have been far from perfect this season, Mourinho believes some of his players are doing their job immaculately, but others are letting the team down.

“Yes, I feel frustrated with some players and I feel that some others give absolutely everything and don’t deserve to lose,” he said.

A good run of form is paramount

Maybe its not as bad as it looks for Chelsea FC and Mourinho. To put that in context, their next two fixtures are home games against Sunderland and Watford. Should they win both the matches, they will travel to Man United with lesser people breathing down Mourinho’s neck. And a win at Old Trafford would definitely stabilize matters an awful lot.

Also, with the January transfer window just around the corner, the Blues might just have a chance of reviving their season.

.

The next 270 minutes of football are paramount for Chelsea, and could well decide Mourinho’s future.
