Former England captain David Beckham has revealed that therea s no bad blood with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Still one of the most popular figures in world football, Beckham said that Ferguson was like a father figure to him while he was at Old Trafford.

Towards the end of Beckhama s Manchester United career, however, the relationship between the two had deteriorated. In one of the most famous incidents of his time at Old Traffored, Sir Alex kicked a boot that flew right into Davida s forehead.

12 years have passed since that incident, and Beckham now feels that the fall-out is in the past. In fact, he went on to mount a heap of praise on his former manager.

“We get on. It was made worse than it actually was. He was a father figure for me for so many years,” said Beckham in an interview to appear on Friday’s Graham Norton Show.

“He brought me to the club that I loved as a kid and I was successful at the club, so he gave me everything in my career.

“He will always be a man that I look up to because he gave me the dream of playing for Man United.

“The was no olive branch. We just bumped into each other at certain occasions after I left Manchester United.

“We never discussed the falling out. There were things that upset me and there were definitely things that upset him about me, but I have so much respect for him as a manager and as a man and he gave me my dream.”

The two were spotted together in the audience as Paris St. Germain took on Chelsea at the Park des Princes last week. They seemed at ease with one another, sharing a couple of jokes here and there. He was a fan favourite wherever he played, be it Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan or PSG.

At United, Beckham spent 11 years, making 265 appearances and scoring 62 goals for the club.
