Chelsea FC Take Dig At Former Liverpool Players Carragher And Souness Through Instagram Post

Chelsea FC have continued the war of words – now pictures – with pundits and former Liverpool players Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness through an Instagram post now.

Chelsea exited the Champions League following a 2-2 draw with PSG in an entertaining game which marred with some controversies. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off in the game rather unfairly and Carragher and fellow Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, criticised Chelsea’s players for their antics in the game as they surrounded referee Bj rn Kuipers and ensured that the Swedish international being sent off. Carragher called the players’ actions “disgraceful”.

Jose Mourinho spoke about the duo’s comments in his press conference and said that the two had conveniently forgotten their own playing days.

“You know the world is a bit strange maybe because of diets and the quality of the products we are eating I think memories are getting shorter,” the Chelsea boss had said.

“When Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness speak about it it is because they are having a problem.

“When the game finished I was in the tunnel and one by one not just the players but the coaches from Paris Saint-Germain I shook their hands and told them they deserved it. This is the way we behave after a defeat.

“I am not like how people sometimes like to describe me. Jamie stopped playing [for Liverpool] two years ago and he forget everything he did on the pitch. Mr Souness also forgot but he stopped playing a long time ago.

“He also forget that a couple of years after he left Benfica, I coached them and I know a lot about him. I know so much about him.

“I am a certainty type of education not just in football but in life and I prefer to laugh and I prefer to say envy is the biggest tribute that the shadows do to the man.”

Carragher himself continued the war of words after questioning the “dark”actions of the Chelsea team in the Daily Mail

“I must stress that it was all good-natured, but on Wednesday night against Paris Saint-Germain, the actions of a Mourinho team were significantly darker. I called Chelsea’s behaviour disgraceful and sad as they pursued a Champions League quarter-final place.

“They went beyond what is acceptable but, unfortunately, it is not the first time we have seen them do it. I doubt it will be the last, either. Mourinho and his teams take winning to a level that other teams and managers do not”

Now Chelsea’s official Instagram account has reiterated Mourinho’s point of Carragher and Souness forgetting their own footballing days. In a two picture collage of put up by the account, Carragher is contesting a penalty decision given by referee Rob Styles after Steve Finnan was adjudged to have fouled Florent Malouda during the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in 2007, while Souness can be seen arguing with players from Portuguese side FC Porto during his time as Benfica boss.
