Chelsea FC: Filipe Luis Insists He Is Happy At Club Despite Atletico Madrid Return Rumors

Chelsea FC left-back Filipe Luis has admitted he is happy at his new club despite reports linking him to be on his way back to Atletico Madrid

According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea will move for Koke this summer and in a move that might be a little surprising, offering up Filipe Luis to the Spanish club as “bait”, less than a year after his arrival from Atletico!

The left-back is playing back-up to Cesar Azpilicueta and that is unlikely to change in the future with the Spaniard doing exceedingly well in that position. Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of Koke, who signed a new five-year deal at the Vicente Calderon just 10 months ago and reportedly, wants to land the player in a cash plus player deal.

The 29-year-year old spent four seasons at Atleti, before leaving for Chelsea last summer.

Luis insisted that he is not going anywhere and is happy at the London club currently while admitting he doesn’t know what the distant future holds.

“I’m just focused on Chelsea, on working hard and giving my best in order to end the season with another important and beautiful trophy,” Luis said.

“Of course, everything can change in football, but I’m happy and have a three-year contract at Chelsea that I’d like to see out.

“I’ve had some of the best years of my career at Atletico and remember the supporters, my teammates and the coaching staff fondly

“I’m really fond of ‘El Cholo’, he’s a coach that taught me so much.”
