Real Madrid offering a new contract to Pepe may be a good news for the Los Blancos fans but it is expected to have a negative impact on the future of Raphael Varane in the Spanish capital. And Premier League leaders Chelsea are keen to provide him a way out by making an offer worth 40 million pounds.

Jose Mourinho was the boss of Real Madrid when Raphael Varane signed for the Los Blancos at the tender age of 18.

Real Madrid paid whopping 12 million euros for an unproven talent like Raphael Varane in 2011 while Zinedine Zidane put in great efforts to beat Manchester United for the signature of the youngster.

The future looked bright for Raphael Varane when he signed for Real Madrid but the promising youngster has failed to replace either Sergio Ramos, which is almost impossible, or Pepe in the starting XI of Los Blancos.

Raphael Varane is currently unsettled at Real Madrid because he wants to play regular football. And now, the reports coming from Spanish capital has claimed that the Los Blancos management is prepared to offer a contract extension to Pepe. This news is certainly going to have a negative impact on the career of Raphael Varane and Premier League leaders Chelsea are keen to offer him a way out.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the talent of Rapahel Varane and he thinks that the Frenchman could prove a worthy successor of ageing John Terry.

Chelsea captain John Terry is certain to announce his retirement in a year or two and the Blues management has already started looking for his long term successor. And considering the reccomendation of Jose Mourinho, they are certain to make a move for Raphael Varane.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti considers Raphael Varane as a long term bet and he is not willing to let him go. And Chelsea will have to splash a huge cash if they want to succeed in their pursuit of the player. It is believed that the Blues are ready to pay in excess of 40 million pounds to get their man.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain and England have also confirmed the plans of Chelsea for Raphael Varane.

The Sun has claimed it today that Jose Mourinho has been given the green light for a A?40million swoop on Raphael Varane.
