Chelsea FC legend Frank Lampard has joined a growing chorus that the signing of Petr Cech will see Arsenal FC challenge his former club for the Premier League title next season.
The former Chelsea FC, Cech, signed a four-year contract worth a basic A?100,000 a week as per the Guardian, and has told Arsenal FCa s official website that he will look to use his experience of winning four Premier League titles, one Champions League, Europa League, four FA Cups and three League Cups to help Arsenal FC become the champions of England once again, after completing his A?11m move last week
The 33-year-old is one of the greatest Premier League goalkeeper and has been hailed by pundits and former players alike as a great signing for Arsenal FC who will improve the side manifolds.
Earlier, John Terry said Cech would add 12-15 points a season to any side, while Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho was against allowing the Czech to join a rival. Lampard also recognises the magnitude of the deal.
“I think Arsenal signing Petr Cech is a big deal,” the former Blues midfielder told the BBC.
“I think ita s been a position that a lot of people at Arsenal, fans and friends have continuously bemoaned the fact that the keeper situation hasna t been sorted out for quite a few years.
“So he will be huge for them, he might push Arsenal into the running. I think Arsenal werena t a million miles away last year. Year in year out they are there or thereabouts and you have to think they will put a run together.”
