Real Madrid have to win their remaining two games and hope Barcelona slips up in both to stand a chance to end the season with at least one major silverware.

Real Madrida s topsy-turvy season has only two more games left in it. Being 4 points behind leader Barcelona, Real Madrid are still in with a chance to win La Liga by winning the last two games. In order for a Los Blancosa to win the league, they will be hoping against hope that Barcelona fail to win their remaining two games.

Ahead of the penultimate game against Espanyol, Ancelotti spoke to the press about the teama s determination to still try and win the league and about his future which has come under a lot of doubt, especially after elimination from the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ancelotti said: “We know it is an important match and we need to bounce back from the result on Wednesday. It is going to be an intense and difficult match, but the team have been training well and we’re completely focused. We want to give it our all in the next two games to fight for the La Liga title until it’s no longer possible mathematically.a

Speaking about his future, the Italian refused to confirm whether he will stay at the club next season. He insisted that there will be a lot of time to talk about his future after the end of the season.

a There is a lot of interest in this topic, but we have two matches left and we have to give it our all in both. We still have a chance of winning La Liga so I’m not going to speak about my future just yet. Out of respect for all concerned, we’ll keep fighting. There’ll be time to discuss my future afterwards.a

Real Madrid received a massive setback on Wednesday as they were eliminated from the Champions League in the semi-final stage by Italian champions Juventus. Speaking about the defeat, the former Chelsea manager expressed his disappointment but also said that such things happen in football.

a We had the possibility of reaching the final but we only played well during one half. We were unfortunate, but these things happen in football. You have to accept whatever happens on the pitch but on a personal level I’m disappointed because I thought the team deserved to play in another final.a
