The three-time Champions League winner admitted he would be open to a return to his former employers, Chelsea FC, but insisted that current coach Jos Mourinho would not be sacked by the club.
Carlo Ancelotti was in London this past week and that has, unsurprisingly, led to rumours of a potential return to Chelsea FC, who have made their worst ever start to a Premier League campaign — currently languishing in 16th, just three points above the relegation zone.
The former Blues’ boss spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail on several topics, including the situation the Blues find themselves in. However, although the Italian admitted he would be open to a return to Stamford Bridge, he insisted that current manager Jos Mourinho would not be sacked.
Ancelotti confident Mourinho will not be sacked by Chelsea FC
The 56-year-old remains confident that his Portuguese colleague will not be sacked, and will eventually turn this freakishly bad Chelsea FC season around. He is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying:
“I would have no problem with Chelsea. But Jose won’t be sacked. They already choose to keep him, and I think they made a good choice. I look from a distance at Chelsea and I think they won the title easily last year and I don’t think they are so motivated this year.

“It’s true that the manager has to be able to motivate players but the manager cannot motivate a player if the player is not self-motivated. It’s impossible. They have lost something and it’s difficult to change like a switch. You have to work slowly to change.
“But Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world, no doubt. I look at his body language and he’s OK. He is not so worried. He has confidence. During the Dynamo Kiev game the supporters were singing his name. He’ll sort it out.”
Mourinho sacking could lead to Ancelotti return
If there’s one thing that has been made clear in recent times — both through stories in the more reliable publications, and now from the words of the man himself — it is that Carlo Ancelotti is available and ready to return to management.
The Italian has been saying enough in the press for cynics to suggest that he seems almost too keen on making sure that every big club potentially looking for a manager — Chelsea FC in particular — knows he is available.

If Mourinho was to be sacked in the coming weeks, it is fairly likely that Roman Abramovich will turn to another former manager in Ancelotti to take over the managerial hot-seat at Stamford Bridge.
