Alexis Sanchez Could Return From Injury In Manchester City Clash, Says Arsenal FC Boss Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has said that his star forward Alexis Sanchez could be fit enough to return to full action on Monday night’s crucial clash between Arsenal FC and Manchester City, but he would not leave it up to the Chilean to make the final decision.

The Frenchman had come under a lot of criticism after the Arsenal forward suffered a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw at Norwich last month. This was because Wenger had fielded him in spite of the Chilean spotting a minor hamstring problem after the previous game against Dinamo Zagreb.

The Gunners boss confirmed that Sanchez has started running again, but the Chilean star is yet to take part in a full fledged training session, and this could dissuade Wenger from fielding him.

a Maybe, there is a slight chance for Alexis to be in the squad again but it is too early to be sure about it,a Wenger was quoted as saying in . The Guardian.

a He is running but not participating in full training. I believe it is normal that he wants to play. You want him to be keen to play. He respects all the decisions I make and that is what I want from him.a

Chelsea FC will not get relegated, says Wenger

Wenger has had a rather turbulent relationship with Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho, who has called the Frenchman a “specialist in failure” by the Portuguese.

However, when asked about Chelsea FC’s floundering season where the Blues are now just one point above the relegation zone, Wenger chose to take the high ground, saying that the West Londoners are not relegation candidates.

“If you ask me objectively ‘will Chelsea go down?’ I say no, no chance. They are in a difficult spell but they are not in a relegation battle,” Wenger was quoted as saying by BBC. “I do not want to assess any other things over Chelsea because it’s not my problem.”
