AC Milan’s incoming boss Sinisa Mihajlovic has made signing Kolarov one of his priorities according to Sky Italia
Kolarov was bought by Manchester City in a A?16m deal with Lazio in 2010 was quoted previously saying that he would like to return to Italy:”I’d like to return to Italy, but it’s difficult.”
With AC Milan’s new boss Mihajlovic interested to avail his services for the Italian giants who struggled to a 10th place finish in Serie A this season, the return could be on the cards, now.
However one potential stumbling block could be the transfer fee with Kolarov signing a new 4 yeard deal just twelve months ago.
Kolarov, 29, is a proven performer in the Serie A and starred for Lazio before Roberto Mancini brought him to the Etihad in 2010.
The imminent arrival of Mihajlovic has further fueled the rumors with reports in Sky Italia. Mihajlovic was in a meeting with AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi on Wednesday night following Ancelottia s decision to take a sabbatical and an official confirmation of the appointment is expected soon. It is being reported by Sky Italia that it was in this meeting that Mihajlovic discussed a potential move for Kolarov while revealing his plan for AC Milan’s future.
Kolarov had earlier indicated his admiration to the incoming Milan manager in an interview to Sky Italia: “I’m happy for Mihajlovic; he’s doing very well.”
.
Kolarov had a very good season with Manchester City in 2013-14, but, has found his chances limited in the 14-15 season.
With AC Milan reportedly having more funds as a result of Chinese investors coming in with money, Kolarov’s wages and transfer fee may very well be in the reach of the Italian giants who are once again hoping to build up a team that wins the Serie A on a consistent basis.
