The English Premier League teams are back in action after the midweek Capital One Cup clashes. The league battle is getting into its element as Chelsea seem to have come close to gaining stability while both the Manchester clubs are battling at the top.
Here are 5 things you should look forward to this week:
The Manchester clubs battle for the top spot
Manchester City lost their first game in the English Premier League against West Ham in a follow-up to their defeat against Juventus in the Champions League. However, the club remain at the top of the table and are yet to be beaten away from home. After a thumping 4-0 win over Sunderland in the midweek Capital One Cup game, the morale will be high in the City dressing room. Coming up against Pochettinoa s Tottenham Hotspur at the White Hart Lane, Manchester City will have to minimize their mistakes. They battle to remain at the top in an early kick-off in London as Citya s bitter rivals Manchester United are closing in on them with only 2 points separating the two sides. Manchester United face a relatively easy task as they face out-of-sorts Sunderland at Old Trafford. United are on a good run as they come into this game having beaten the likes of Liverpool and Southampton in the last two league games.

Chelsea face a tough test sans Diego Costa
Chelsea travel to face Newcastle United, who have had a rather embarrassing start to their league campaign. The Blues themselves have been left red-faced having only won 2 of their 6 league games. However, Newcastle United will serve as favourable opponents for Chelsea, who have seen 3 consecutive victories in all competitions with their latest league victory coming against local rivals, Arsenal. The fixture can prove to be nightmarish for Chelsea as Newcastle were the team that brought the London-based cluba s unbeaten run to a stop last season. However, they were being managed by Alan Pardew back then. Chelsea will have to shuffle the pack upfront as they will be without Diego Costa who will sit out his 2nd game whilst serving a 3-match suspension. Meanwhile, Newcastle have to make significant changes to the starting 11 as they came into this game with a long list of injuries and suspensions. It will be interesting to see if Loic Remy starts the game against his old team.
Arsenala s quest to break into the top 4
Arsenal were left fuming after a controversial defeat to Chelsea last week. The Gunners havena t had the best of starts to the season. They come up against Leicester City on Saturday as they try to rise up the table. Leicester have so far been the surprise package this season as they are the only team yet to be beaten in the league. Arsenal have it in them to change that but it wona t be a surprise if Leicester manage to avoid defeat or even beat Arsenal to maintain their position in the table. Arsenal will be glad to have Per Mertesacker back in contention as they will be without Gabriel. The North London club also have Santi Cazorla available after the Spaniard served a one-match suspension after sitting out the midweek victory over Spurs.
Will West Ham carry on their successful start?
West Ham United have made a very good start to their campaign. The London-based club have beaten the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City to see themselves in the third position on the league table. The Hammers can without a doubt be seen as the giant killers having beaten some of the better clubs already. They face a rather easy test this week as they come up against Norwich City, who have made a so-so start to their campaign. It is unlikely that West Ham will not see the three points playing at home, though they will be without Alex Song and Enner Valencia. Norwich, who managed to grab a point against Liverpool will have to be at their best in order to see a positive result against the third-placed side.
Liverpoola s predicament to end the dry run
Liverpool may not be one of the title contenders but they are at least expected to finish in one of the Champions League place. However, the Merseyside club have managed to disappoint supporters once again as they find themselves reeling in the bottom half of the table. After winning the first two league games, Rodgera s side have been struggling. Liverpool are on a 4-match winless run in the Premier League and after a somewhat embarrassing penalty shoot-out victory over League Two Carlisle in the Capital One Cup game, Liverpool will be hoping to turn their form around. With Brendan Rodgers job believed to be on the line, the manager is expected to come up with a plan to get his team back to winning ways coming up against Aston Villa.
