The Gunners got off to the worst possible start conceding 2 goals in the first 7 minutes. Chelsea then went into over drive with Oscar bagging a brace

Arsenal is not out of the title race yet, but it will take a monumental effort between now and the end of the season if they are to win the league. A top four finish and winning the FA Cup seems more realistic at the moment. With eight more games to go, Chelsea looks favorites especially with Jose Mourinho at the helm.

Ai??Brendan Rodgers` Liverpool side continued to dazzle again in front of goal against a spirited Cardiff side. The Reds` fire power was too much to handle for the Welsh side as they conceded 6 goals. Luis Suarez bagged yet another hat trick this season and Skrtel managed to add a second brace to his tally of six goals this season. Rodgers would have been pleased to see the character shown by his players after trailing twice, but they turned on the after burners in the second half to pull away from Cardiff City. Ai??Rooney does a Beckham

Ai??Wayne Rooney has been a shining star for United in what is turning out to be a dismal season for the Red Devils. The former Evertonian scored a Beckham-esque goal which left Adrian bamboozled in the West Ham goal. United ran out comfortable winners in the end courtesy a Rooney double. David Moyes would have been relieved to see his stand-in captain step up to the challenge and boost United`s hopes of playing European football next season. Mata had a good game playing just off Rooney and it is imperative that he finds his form to help United in the latter part of the season, especially without the injured Robin Van Persie.

Ai??City drubs hapless Fulham

Ai??Manchester City turned on the style against a clueless Fulham side by thrashing them 5-0 with Yaya Toure grabbing a treble. The citizens showed glimpses of their early season form when they were mauling teams at the Etihad. Pellegrini`s men dominated from the start to finish in a one- sided game and reminded the other teams that they are still the front runners for the premiership title. Fulham, on the other hand look doomed. They are the favorites to drop down to the championship. Magath`s men might need nothing short of a miracle to stay up and the game against Everton this Sunday is a must-win.

Ai??Soldado shows promise

Roberto Soldado is one such player who will make football fans drool if he is on song. He showed his class against Southampton at White Hart Lane with some neat inter-play with Christian Eriksen with the latter netting two goals in a 3-2 win after Spurs were trailing 1-2 at half time. Soldado`s touch and his overall play was reminiscent of his Valencia days and this is nothing but an encouraging sign for the Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood as he tries to lead his team into the Champions League places in a disappointing campaign. Southampton on the other hand, will be kicking themselves after such a solid start which gave them a 2-0 lead. The only encouraging sign was the link up play play between the English- triumvirate Lambert, Lallana and Rodriguez. Roy Hodgson was an avid spectator in the stands chalking up his plans and ideas for the friendlies to come.

Ai??Everton showed everyone that they are still in the fray for a top four finish with a typical Tofees performance against Swansea at Goodison Park where they ran out 3-2 winners. Lukaku put in a strong performance and once again reminded Jose Mourinho of his excellent attributes. Roberto Martinez was optimistic about his side`s top four chances and it would take a major slip up for the current top four if the Blues are to make the champions League next season. Swansea is in danger of getting sucked into the relegation season with no wins in their last five games.

The Senegalese striker pounced to score past a baffled Palace defence in the 94^th minute after fluffing numerous chances in the game. Stoke City look safe after demolishing Aston Villa 4-1 at Villa Park. It is going to be a fascinating battle to avoid relegation and the bottom five look vulnerable at the moment.
