Manchester United and Chelsea FC transfer target Edinson Cavani has rubbished reports about him asking for a move away from PSG.
Initial reports suggested that Edinson Cavani is displeased about life at PSG and has urged his agent to look for a move to the Premier League. These reports fuelled rumours about Chelsea and Manchester Unitedai??i??s interest in the signing the Uruguayan international this summer. But Cavani has rubbished these reports and insists he is happy to extend his stay in Paris.
Edinson Cavani joined PSG last summer in a much talked about A?55m move from Italian club Napoli. The 27-year-old striker won the Ligue 1 title in his first season with the French club as he formed a good partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack. But the striker was mostly used in a wide role by Laurent Blanc in order to accommodate Ibrahimovic in the middle and this was a cause for Cavaniai??i??s frustration.
The former Palermo striker has publicly expressed his displeasure at being used in such a role, and these fuelled speculations regarding his future at the club.
Cavani, who returned from Brazil after some uninspiring performances for Uruguay in the World Cup, reportedlyAi??asked his agent to look for a move to the Premier LeagueAi??this summer. Both Manchester United and Chelsea were put on high alert following these reports. Jose Mourinho was reportedly interested in signing Cavani before the Blues landed Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid, while Manchester have been linked with the striker for a long time.
Cavani even refused to rule out a move to Manchester United in an interview during the World Cup. Although the striker now claims that he is happy at PSG and has talked with manager about his role in the side.
