Liverpool have made a bid for Tolga Cigerci, as the Merseyside club looks to snatch the player from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg before the end of the season. ManagerAi??Brendan Rodgers has been tracking the Germany Under-19 player’s progress this season as the Turkish born midfielder spends it on loan at Hertha Berlin this term.Ai??According to German newspaper Bild, Liverpool have offered Wolfsburg A?2million to sign the player and are now waiting on it.
Liverpool manager Rodgers was forced to move early for the 20-year-old early because Cigerci spends the season on loan at Hertha and the club are also in talks with parent side Wolsburg and want to make his stay permanent at the Bundesliga side.
The Northern Irishman has identified the youngster, who can play anywhere in the midfield, but prefers the deeper role, as a potential summer signing.
The 21 year old is rated atAi??A?2m. The player’s strengths include wonderful through balls and layoffs for attacking players and linking the play up with strong and accurate passes. Cigerci can hold on to the ball well and is strong defensively.
Cigerci could arrive at Anfield in the summer and provide competition and cover for Brazilian Lucas. Liverpool are currently using Steven Gerrard in the deeper role and even though the Liverpool captain is doing better with every game, the addition of Cigerci would definitely bolster the Liverpool squad.

The England international has just over a year of his current City deal left and the 28 year old could consider a move to League rivals Liverpool in order to keep his career ticking.Ai??Milner has become something of an outcast as he has started just seven Premier League fixtures this season. With City’s tremendous squad strength, the former Newcastle United player finds himself on the fringes a lot of times. Liverpool apparently made a loan bid for the City man in January and failed but are willing to add the player in the squad in the summer.
The Anfield outfit faces competition from city rivals Everton, who are also interested in getting the England international. Both the teams are working on a top 4 finish and the final league position might become an important factor for Milner, if he does get to choose between the two clubs.

Liverpool are reportedly considering bringing in Chelsea full back Ashley Cole.

Cole has only started 12 of Chelsea Premier League fixtures this season and there has been heavy reported interest from the MLS in the States. However, it has been claimed that Cole would prefer to stay in Europe as he does not want to compromise on his England berth.
Liverpool have been without their first choice left back Jose Enrique since early November. Aly Cissokho, the loan signing from Valencia was sub-par initially, but has started doing decently of late. Rodgers had been utilizing Liverpool’s home product Jon Flanagan in the left back spot initially, but with Johnson ruled out, Flanagan has been used as a right back for Liverpool.
Ashley Cole would be a good signing for Liverpool, especially if the club qualifies for the Champions League as Cole offers wealth of experience with him. The player’s addition would also mean that the club has a larger squad with more quality.
