Germany played a frustrating 2-2 draw against Cameroon yesterday and coach Joachim Low has criticized his players by claiming that they ai???lack the freshnessai???.
The German coach was not happy with the mistakes made by his players and has asked them to step up their game.
Low thinks that Germany lacked a spark and paid for their poor passing game.
“With us, one has noticed that the freshness is missing,” he said.
“Our passing game was not good and we made many, many mistakes. If we had taken the lead, it would have helped the team.ai???
Low has also warned his players to wake up before its too late. “We need the best players currently available at the World Cup,Ai??and not theoretically the best.
“I’ve told the players: The clock is ticking. And only ones who hear it will have a fighting chance.
“This is an appeal to all and a wake up call to many to work on their training, their routine, and their professionalism as now is the optimal time [to work on those things] before the tournament.”
Germany also missed many opportunities to score and the coach feels that this is becoming a perennial problem with his team.
“It pervades through the last few years that we need many opportunities [to score].”
Germany started the game with full strength squad but Cameroon took the lead through their captain Samuel Etoai??i??o just after the hour mark. But Thomas Muller and Andre Schurrle responded quickly to put the Germany ahead by 2-1. But Eric Maxim Choupe-Mouting scored an equalizer late to left German coach Joachim Low frustrated in the end.
Since Low took over the charge of Germany after 2006 World Cup, his side has failed turn up to its high expectations and the coach is aware of this fact. He said: “On paper, we have seen a top team, but the reality is at the moment a bit different.
“Several players were injured for months, while others have to struggle with a lack of rhythm and its form”
