Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta has come out and praised Frank Lampard for his stunning and impressive appearances. Lampard scored his fifth goal of the season for Manchester City against Southampton, in a 3-0 mauling of the Saints. Although the future of Frank Lampard is still unsure, his performances have been infused with this traditional runs into the box. The former Chelsea midfielder, won everything with Chelsea and decided to move to New York City, a MLS Side – but was loaned back to Manchester City.
“He won everything with Chelsea, he’s a legend in football and he’s still playing like he’s 18 years old.” said Zabaleta
“For me what makes Frank Lampard special is how professional he is in training: this is what I appreciate from him,”

Lampard also played the full 90 minutes in City’s midweek 3-2 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, before climbing off the bench to cement his loan club’s win at Southampton.

“Frank was great, but I also think the whole team were fantastic on Sunday,” said Zabaleta.
“We were very solid at the back and we defended very well.
“Obviously we made the difference at the end with the great finishes by Yaya Toure, Frank Lampard and Gael Clichy so I am proud of the team because those three points are very well deserved.
“Sergio has been fantastic for the team: at the moment he’s probably been one of the best players. That is always what you expect from a top player. I hope Sergio can continue like that, it’s fantastic.”
Although Manchester City now sit at second place, they are still six points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, who dropped points against Sunderland as they were held to a goalless draw. Manuel Pellegrini’s side would be looking to take even more advantage of Chelsea’s rugged fixture list, as Chelsea now face Tottenham in mid-week and Newcastle on the weekend, while Man City face off against Sunderland mid week and Everton on Saturday.
