The on-loan midfielder has hinted that he might extend his stay at Manchester City but pointed out that it depends solely on his performances on the pitch.
Frank Lampard has been impressive for the English champions so far during his short spell from New York City FC but will make a decision regarding his stay in England only after January. The Blues midfielder has scored four goals in six appearances so far and reports suggest that he may remain at City until Yaya Toure returns from the AFCON in February.
Manuel Pellegrini has already expressed his desire to keep Lampard longer and although City have no formal agreement with the MLS outfit, it seems Lampard will extend his stay with Manchester City as they look to fight on multiple fronts this season.
Asked whether he was looking to extend his stay, he replied: “The temptation is to not get ahead of myself in my career. I am here until January 1, basically, so I will focus on that and see what happens then.”
“There has been a lot said about when the season starts, but the only thing that can decide my future is how well I am playing. They will be kicking me out in January if I donai??i??t play very well!..I am just looking game to game and trying to play as well as I can.”
City fans have quickly welcomed the former Chelsea hero, and reports suggest that he has been exceptional in training as well as making a difference on the field ai??i?? and the supportersai??i?? reaction has been appreciated by Lampard himself. He thanked the City fans for their warm response and hopes that he can continue his fine form to help City challenge in all the competitions they are participating this campaign.
