Chelsea are hoping to sign Marco Reus and have lured his club side Borussia Dortmund, by offering the German club, Andre Schurrle. Germany’s The Bild reportsAi??that, Chelsea are hoping to cash in on Reus as soon as January.
Meanwhile , Marco Reus is available for 20million next summer due to a buy-out clause. Marco Reus has been heavily linked to English clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal and even Manchester United, but with Chelsea offering bait, Borussia Dortmund could be tempted to sell Rues, the Blues way.
Moreover, Borussia Dortmund recently revealed that they have put an end to all contract negotiations with Marco Reus, justifying that the German International is poised to leave Dortmund.
While Dortmund reel in the relegation zone, Marco Reus would be more than happy to jump out of a sinking ship. Andre Schurrle however could join the German giants as Dortmund have identified Schurrle as a possible source to re-energise their squad.
Although Andre Schurrle has a contract with Chelsea untill 2018, the German International would be happy to leave the club, largely due to lack of match opportunities.
Andre Schurrle joined Chelsea in 2013 and since then has only appeared 38 times for the London based club.
SchA?rrle usually plays as a winger for Chelsea but is naturally positioned as a second striker.One of SchA?rrle’s “key assets” is his “long-distance sprinting on the counter-attack.”SchA?rrle also has an excellent fitness level, work-rate and pace.
SchA?rrle is considered to be a “good finisher” and “capable of executing counter-attacks effectively”.He often likes to cut inside, shoot from distance and enjoys time on the ball.
While Andre Schurrle might not be enjoying time under Mourinho, the Blues are on a cruise, leading the Premier League comfortably.
Jose Mourinho who further looks to strengthen his side and ensure that his contingent develops as the best in Europe, has taken advantage of this interest shown by Borussia Dortmund and looks to capitalize on it.
A swap deal looks highly likely, with Schurrle going to Germany and Reus finally coming to England. As it seems, Marco Reus would fit right into Chelsea’s plan as the German International is known for his counter attacking instincts along with his ability to do defensive duties. Reus would fit into a three man attacking trident which could comprise of Eden Hazard, Oscar and himself.
If this happens, then this trident deployed behind Diego Costa is arguably one of Europe’s top attacking setups. Chelsea although are already running away with the Premier League trophy, would dash towards success and Jose Mourinho would finally quench his thirst wherein a trophy eluded the Portuguese.
While Borussia Dortmund struggle in the Bundesliga relegation zone, Chelsea sit comfortably top at the top of the Premier League.
