Chelsea FC midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will undergo his medical at Wolfsburg tomorrow as Bild reports that both the clubs have reached an agreement.
Kevin De Bruyne joined Chelsea in January last year and since then he has made only six appearances for the club after spending loan spells at Genk and Werder Bremen. The 22-year-old ended the World Cup qualification campaign as the top scorer for Belgium as they secured their place in the mega-event to be held in Brazil next year, but hasnai??i??t been able to grab a permanent place under Jose Mourinho so far.
But De Bruyne has started in only two Premier League matches for Chelsea this season and his place in the national team could be in jeopardy if he continues to miss out on first team action with his club. Chelsea have an embarrassment of riches in the attacking third of the field and De Bruyne has to compete with the likes of Willian, Hazard, Oscar, Andre Schurrle and Juan Mata for a place in the side. Even fellow countryman Eden Hazard has earlier suggested Kevin De Bruyne to leave the club in order to gain regular first team action before the World Cup.
Jose Mourinho has also accepted the possibility of De Bruyne leaving the club in this window and revealed that the club has received two bids for the players. Now Bild is reporting that Wolfsburg, who have been chasing the midfielder along with Werder Bremen and Schalke, have agreed a deal with the London club for the sale of the Belgium international. The fee involved in this transfer is expected to reach A?20 million, which incidentally will also fund the return of Nemanja Matic to Stamford Bridge. Reports suggest that De Bruyne has signed a five and a half year contract with the German club and will undergo medical at Wolfsburg tomorrow.
