Chelsea FC striker Samuel Etoai??i??o has refuted claims that he is keen to leave the London club at the end of this season.
Samuel Etoai??i??o has slowly but surely established himself in the Chelsea first team since joining them this summer. The former Barcelona striker has Ai??gazumped Fernando Torres in the pecking order and has scored six goals in 13 starts in the league so far, along with two strikes in the Champions League. But his future at the club beyond this season remains under speculations.
The 32-year-old though, who has won nearly everything there is to win in club football, is certainly approaching the end of his long and legendary career. His current contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of this season and initial reports suggested that he wonai??i??t extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this season. Etoai??i??o was mostly signed as a short term solution by Jose Mourinho, as he failed to sign any of the big name strikers he had aimed for at the start of the summer.
But Etoai??i??o wonai??i??t be short on offers and a lot of European clubs will be looking to use his experience in the squad and sign him for free next summer. Etoai??i??o had earlier hinted in an interview that he could possibly move to his former club Mallorca. Etoai??i??o insisted back then that he misses the weather, his friends and culture back in Spain, which further added fuel to those speculations about his future.
Recent reports suggested that Etoai??i??o could reject a contract extension if Chelsea come up with an offer, but the striker has now refuted these reports in a statement released through Instagram.
