Chelsea FC custodian Petr Cech has dismissed reports which linked him with a move to London rivals Arsenal FC in the summer.
The 30-year-old was the latest addition in the long list of goalkeepers who have been linked with a move to the Emirates this season. But Petr Cech has stated that he ai???canai??i??t even imagineai??? playing for their London rivals.
“It is an interesting piece of news but it is such speculation that I think it’s not even necessary to comment on it.
“I know of nothing, nobody has contacted me and, to be honest, I can’t even imagine it.
“I don’t even normally notice such rumours. But when it does get to me, I naturally look at it to know what to say about it later.
“There are players who do read newspapers. Some players read match reports to know what was written about them and where.
“I don’t do this, I don’t read newspapers because of such things. I don’t take rumours like this seriously.” ai??i?? The Chelsea keeper was quoted in media.
When Petr Cech hangs up his gloves, he is sure to go down as a Chelsea legend after what he has achieved at the club and also for maintaining such amazing consistency in his performance for the last seven-eight years. The recent rumours was based on the fact that Thibaut Courtois, who has excelled during loan spell to Atletico Madrid, is expected to return to London in the summer ai??i?? who many believe is ready to displace Cech as the No.1 at Chelsea.
But 30-year-old hasnai??i??t showed any signs of slowing down ai??i?? statistically he might less clean sheets and has conceded more goals in recent times, but that has much to do with Chelseaai??i??s vulnerable defence in comparison to the one that protected him in yesteryears. But Petr Cech surely has at least two more seasons left in him before he concedes the No.1 spot to any other goalkeeper. Moreover, Courtois is also keen on returning back to Spain next season and reports also suggest that Chelsea might use him in their attempt to sign Falcao during the summer.
As for Arsenal ai??i?? Victor Valdes, Pepe Reina and Michel Vorm seems to be much more viable options in comparison to Cech. Chelsea are unlikely to let go of the experienced custodian any time soon.
