Serie A giants Juventus could turn their focus to Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic in January amid uncertainty surrounding the player’s future.
According to Fichajes, Christian Pulisic has emerged as a surprise candidate for Juventus for the upcoming winter transfer window. The USMNT international has not been able to nail down a permanent spot at Stamford Bridge and might definitely be looking for some respite from his clogged Chelsea career.
Pulisic’s rocky relationship with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel had hit rock-bottom, and the former Borussia Dortmund winger even recently revealed how he was ignored in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid despite being promised a place in the starting lineup.
Tuchel has now been replaced by Graham Potter, and the new Chelsea manager, too, does not appear to be impressed by the player’s availability. The 24-year-old is still regarded as one of the most valued forward across the globe, and there won’t be a dearth of suitors should Chelsea decide to sell him.
Pulisic has a contract till 2024, and a cut-price deal could be agreed upon between the two parties. Juventus reportedly asked for the player in the deal when the Blues came calling for defender Matthijs de Ligt. But the Chelsea were adamant in their stance that Pulisic remained an integral part of their setup.
But things have changed drastically now, and new owner Todd Boehly could be ready to do some much-needed business in January. The American business tycoon is handling all the transfer dealings since his much-hyped takeover, and Pulisic’s Chelsea stint could soon come to an end.
Juventus roped in Angel Di Maria in the summer, but the Argentine international had only asked for a one-year deal, as his priority is to spend his fading years at Rosario Central, a club he loves more than anything.
Also, Juventus’s current performance could prompt Di Maria to take a decision immediately, although the player is not in a hurry to rush to a decision and is expected to honour his current contract. Another former Chelsea player Juan Cuadrado’s current contract is set to expire next summer, and the Italian giants are unlikely to offer him a chance to extend his stay at the club.

Juventus want to address the right-wing problems, and Pulisic could be the right solution. Predominantly a right winger, he can be deployed on the opposite flank and can also demonstrate his trickery from the number ten position. Pulisic was expected to leave Chelsea in the summer, but Chelsea will now not stand in his way if a suitable offer does arrive in January.
