Manchester United have reportedly been linked with a move for Ajax winger Antony this summer, with the Brazilian attacker agreeing personal terms.
According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Brazilian winger Antony. The Red Devils are expected to submit an improved offer to Ajax in a bid to secure the 22-year-old’s services before the summer transfer window shuts down.
Manchester United recently strengthened their squad with the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, and it seems that manager Erik ten Hag is not done adding to his squad just yet, with Antony their priority target.
Antony has been a key player for Ajax over the past year, and he managed to score 12 goals and pick up ten assists across all competitions for the Dutch outfit last season.
There is no doubt that the Brazilian has the potential to develop into a top-class attacker, and he could be a quality long-term acquisition for the Red Devils. Manchester United certainly need to add more depth and quality in the wide areas, and Antony will be expected to compete with the likes of Jadon Sancho if the transfer goes through.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger arrived at Manchester United with massive expectations, but he had a mediocre first season at Old Trafford. However, Sancho has been quite impressive in the early stages of the 2022/23 season so far.
It remains to be seen whether Antony can force his way into the Manchester United starting lineup and hold down a regular starting berth. The Brazilian plays in a similar role to that of Sancho, and he will fancy his chances of being a regular starter for Erik ten Hag ahead of the England international.
Antony worked with ten Hag during their time together at Ajax, and he will feel that he is well settled in the Dutchman’s attacking system at Manchester United. The Brazilian international will be expected to make an immediate impact at Old Trafford.
Romano has confirmed that personal terms have been agreed between the player and the Premier League giants for over a week now, and Antony has already communicated his desire to leave this summer. An agreement between the two clubs is yet to be reached, but it is fair to assume that Manchester United will be able to tempt Ajax into selling their star attacker given their considerable financial resources.
