Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly on the radar of Chelsea this summer, with the two parties in contact over a possible summer move.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the subject of interest from Chelsea over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Blues are in contact with the Barcelona attacker, with the west London club yet to submit an offer to the Blaugrana.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has resurrected his career brilliantly since joining Barcelona earlier this year in a free transfer. The Gabonese striker had endured a dramatic fall from grace at Arsenal, going from club captain and first-choice centre-forward to being banished from the first team by Mikel Arteta within months.
But Aubameyang was so influential in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign that he almost finished as Barcelona’s top scorer, netting 13 goals in 23 games. However, while he has exorcised the demons of his final days as an Arsenal player, his position as the first-choice striker is under threat following Robert Lewandowski’s arrival at Camp Nou. And Chelsea might look to take advantage by prising the 33-year-old away from Barcelona.
The west Londoners are yet to bring in a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who has rejoined Inter Milan on loan this summer. In addition, Timo Werner could depart from Stamford Bridge this month amid interest from RB Leipzig, thus prompting Chelsea to scour the market for a top-class striker.

Benjamin Sesko recently emerged on Chelsea’s radar over a possible move in the summer transfer window. But with the Slovenian striker likelier to join Manchester United than Chelsea, the Blues need to keep a contingency plan in place, with Aubameyang popping up on their radar.
Chelsea and Aubameyang have already broken the ice, and the two parties are in talks over a possible move. But the Premier League heavyweights are yet to submit an offer to Barcelona, meaning the transfer will take some time to see the light of day, if at all.

Barcelona might not be open to the idea of selling Aubameyang, considering they want to offload Memphis Depay this summer to complete the attacking unit. But Chelsea will likely persist by tabling a bid, and it will be interesting to see if they bring the veteran attacker back to the Premier League.
