Manchester City and Liverpool are among the top English sides plotting an approach for exciting Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino.
According to Fichajes, Yeremy Pino could become a top target for English giants Liverpool and Manchester City. The exciting Villarreal winger is proving to be one of the best young wingers in La Liga after a brilliant season under Unai Emery, with plenty of other clubs, including Arsenal, keen on signing him.
Yeremy Pino has been on the radars of multiple top clubs across England and Spain, with the 19-year-old winger performing admirably since breaking out at Villarreal. His output of six goals and four assists last season is considered promising, and he could get an opportunity to play for a big club.
Most of the credit has to be reserved for Unai Emery for developing the player, and the Spanish manager is keen to continue the progress. However, if a big offer were to arrive on Villarreal’s doorsteps, it may become challenging to keep hold of Pino beyond this summer.
For Villarreal’s part, they renewed his contract midway through last season, and Pino has five years left on his deal. It puts the Spanish club in a solid position to demand a high sum for the player. Considering the interested parties are English bigwigs, the price tag is expected to be significant.
Liverpool, Arsenal, and Real Madrid were interested earlier in the year, and now Manchester City have joined them in monitoring on the 19-year-old. And Pino could accept a big move if an offer came by as he is keen to play at a higher level. Liverpool and Manchester City could be looking to add the youngster and create quality depth in the wide areas.
Arsenal were keen before the window opened, but the interest has slightly cooled off in light of some of their transfer activities. The Gunners signed 19-year-old Brazilian prodigy Marquinhos to add depth in the wide attacking positions, while their pursuit of Raphinha indicated they were looking at an established option.
Manchester City have signed Julian Alvarez, who made an impact by scoring against Liverpool in the Community Shield. Despite early reports suggesting Pep Guardiola could loan the Argentine out for the season, the attacker is not going anywhere and could be seen as a potential replacement for Ferran Torres.
Meanwhile, Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica in the summer, who, in addition to Luis Diaz, could become part of the new front three alongside Mohamed Salah. Yet, Jurgen Klopp continues developing young players like Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, and summer arrival Fabio Carvalho.
The Liverpool boss could be keen on signing Pino to add to the young core of players at the club. While the Spaniard may not be a regular starter in the upcoming season at either Liverpool or Manchester City, he certainly has the potential to push the established attackers and gain momentum.
For now, there have been no official approaches made to Villarreal. However, that could change between now and the end of the transfer window, mainly if Villarreal are prepared to cash in on the 19-year-old attacker amid interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
