Arsenal have reportedly submitted a third offer to sign Manchester United target Lisandro Martinez from Ajax this summer.
According to The Sun, Arsenal have proposed a new, improved bid for Lisandro Martinez, but Ajax are yet to respond to the offer. The Gunners have had one bid rejected and then decided to improve the financial terms set with the second offer. And the latest proposal for the Manchester United target has a valuation of £34 million-plus improved add-ons.
Arsenal are in the race to sign Lisandro Martinez after submitting a third offer. The Argentine international is also a target for Manchester United, and the Gunners remain hopeful of securing the defender’s services in the coming days.
Since signing Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, Arsenal’s transfer activity has significantly ramped up. The Gunners have reached an agreement to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for £45 million, with the move set to be officially announced later this week.
Arsenal quickly got going in the pursuit of Leeds United talisman Raphinha, but Chelsea seem to have beaten them in the last 48 hours after agreeing to a fee with the Whites. Arsenal did not waste much time and got back to chasing Lisandro Martinez, who remains Mikel Arteta’s primary defensive target this summer.
Ajax rejected Arsenal’s initial bid for the Argentine international, and the Gunners submitted a second offer. The Dutch giants did not respond to the improved proposal, although they may have indicated the required changes during talks with Arsenal executives.
