Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing 26-year-old Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Chelsea are keen to sign Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries this summer. The Blues have opened discussions with the Nerazzurri for a potential loan move for the 26-year-old Dutch international, with an option of making the move permanent next season.
The two club are currently involved in talks for a possible return for striker Romelu Lukaku, with discussions progressing nicely for all parties involved. But as per Galetti, Chelsea and Inter are also discussing a loan move for Dumfries, who joined the Nerazzurri just last season from PSV Eindhoven.
Inter are in a tricky financial situation and may have to offload multiple first-team players to balance their books and add new signings to their squad. Quite a few names have popped up over the last couple of months.
Centre-back Alessandro Bastoni was the first to be linked with an exit, with Antonio Conte eager on a reunion at Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Italian international is reportedly not convinced about leaving the Serie A, which has left Spurs looking for other options.

Milan Skriniar has also been linked with an exit, while Dumfries is now the latest on the list of Inter players who could leave this summer. The 26-year-old Dutch right-back joined the Serie A giants in a €13 million move last summer as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain.
Dumfries slotted seamlessly into the right wing-back role and made 45 appearances for Simone Inzaghi’s side across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. But like his predecessor Hakimi, the 26-year-old, too, could be on his way out after just one season amid interest from Chelsea.
Chelsea currently have Reece James as their first-choice right wing-back, but they could lose both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso this summer, which explains their pursuit of a full-back.

There have been claims that Chelsea want Inter to add Dumfries in the Romelu Lukaku deal. Meanwhile, Manchester United are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old Dutch international and have been asked to pay €40 million to secure his signing. But Chelsea can offer UEFA Champions League football, giving them the advantage in his pursuit.
