Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will reportedly face competition from Serie A giants Juventus in the race to sign Ryan Gravenberch.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Ryan Gravenberch is the subject of interest from Juventus over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Serie A giants will rival Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in pursuit of the 19-year-old Ajax prodigy, valued at around €35 million.
Ryan Gravenberch is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe, having gone from strength to strength since breaking into the first-team setup at Ajax as a 16-year-old nearly four years ago. At the same time, the teenage prodigy has also established a foothold in the Dutch national side.
To date, the 19-year-old has made 94 appearances for Ajax, chipping in with ten goals and 11 assists in the process. But the Dutch giants are poised to lose Gravenberch in the summer transfer as he has a little over twelve months left on his current contract, with a renewal nowhere in sight. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Gravenberch is reportedly set for talks with Real Madrid, with the Dutch prodigy emerging as a possible long-term successor for Luka Modric. While Gravenberch will likely replace Isco and Dani Ceballos initially, he will be expected to take Modric’s place in the grand scheme of things in the long run.
As for Bayern Munich, the Bavarian giants recently joined Real Madrid in the race to sign the 19-year-old. And Gravenberch could be filling the space that will be left open by the departure of Corentin Tolisso. The French international is into the final six months of his Bayern Munich deal and likely to depart the Allianz Arena as a free agent.
The latest entrants in the race to sign Gravenberch are Serie A giants Juventus, who have a more urgent need for a top-class midfielder than Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Manuel Locatelli seems to be the only reliable midfielder at the Allianz Stadium, with Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey reportedly deemed surplus to requirements.
According to the report, Ajax will demand around €35 million to part with Gravenberch in the summer transfer window. The asking price is not too steep, and the three European bigwigs will likely fancy their chances of snapping Gravenberch up, setting up an enticing transfer battle for him.
