Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Yeremy Pino from Villarreal in the summer transfer window.
According to Fichajes, Villarreal’s 19-year-old attacking sensation, Yeremy Pino, is the subject of interest from some of the top clubs across the Premier League. Manchester City and Liverpool have become the latest teams to consider a move for the Spanish international in the summer transfer window.
Yeremy Pino has had an incredible 18 months in a Villarreal shirt. The 19-year-old has become a regular under Unai Emery at the La Liga club, helping the team win the UEFA Europa League crown last season. This term, he has continued with his impressive displays, which have attracted considerable interest from top clubs across the continent.
The Spanish youngster has plenty of options to choose from to further his career, but leaving Villarreal seems inevitable given his potential and current ability, which has already earned him a call up to Spain’s senior squad.
Villarreal have him Pino down to a deal until 2027, meaning the La Liga giants are in no rush to sell their exciting attacker, although they would be in a position to demand top dollar from interested parties.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have shown interest in the teenage prodigy in the past, but Premier League clubs are now looking to steal a march on their Spanish counterparts. Arsenal have previously shown keen interest in the 19-year-old, and Mikel Arteta remains open to adding Yeremy to his young team.
Manchester City are also keeping tabs on Pino, as Pep Guardiola seeks to replace the departed Ferran Torres in the upcoming window. The Villarreal attacker’s ability to play across the attacking positions makes him ideal for the Catalan coach.
Guardiola was keen on Torres to develop into a versatile attacker capable of playing from wide zones and in the false nine role. Since the Spanish international has joined Barcelona, Manchester City are keen on bringing in a viable replacement and could invest in the 19-year-old Villarreal forward in the summer.
Their biggest competition for Yeremy comes from arch-rivals Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is considering many options to add to his wide attacking areas. With the futures of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in considerable doubt, the German coach wants to develop a young forward line.
Options such as Ismaila Sarr, Bukayo Saka and Jarrod Bowen have all been considered before by Klopp, although Pino’s quality and potential availability may become a telling factor. The Spanish international will certainly cost a massive sum of money, which Liverpool may not be able to afford after recent splurges in the transfer market.
It remains to be seen where Pino heads in the summer transfer window, although he could yet remain at Villarreal beyond the summer. The Spanish prodigy does seem destined to make a big impact at one of the top clubs in Spain or England, and it is only a matter of time before he seeks greener pastures.
