Liverpool’s new Premier League campaign was off to a flying start as they thrashed West Ham United 4-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
Last season’s Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah got off the mark for the new term, stroking home from point-blank range, before Sadio Mane made it 2-0 on the verge of half-time.
Soon after the restart, the Senegalese added his second goal of the day with a fine finish, although he should have been flagged offside. With less than five minutes left on the board, substitute Daniel Sturridge stabbed home the fourth, only 20 seconds after coming on, to add more gloss to the scoreline.
The win – Liverpool’s 500th in the Premier League, sent them to the top of the table and naturally the fans were in jubilant mood, claiming the title was coming to Anfield this season.
Not getting carried away tbh but we’re winning the league

The likes of Salah and Mane continued where they left off last season, but new signing Naby Keita impressed heavily on his Premier League debut, with a brilliant all-round display.
Keita is unreal! Salah & Mane having a cracker too. Some excellent football. Liverpool looking forward to a savage season. Top of the league as well ? pic.twitter.com/1L7ykNrcyx

Class act, Keitas ability is insane I hope he’s like Kante when he signed for Chelsea ☑️
— Ryan Woodhall (@rywoodhall) August 12, 2018
Perfect start!
Allison solid ✅
Keita Class ✅
Front three as dynamic as last year ✅
Salah still delivering ✅Throw in really positive performances from Milner, Robertson and VVD and couldn’t have asked for a better opener!!#Believer @LFC #LIVWHU

Keita is the real deal. Happy for Sturridge to get a goal. But the player to watch out this season is NABY KEITA. He was boss in the midfield. It would have been great to add an attacking central midfielder into the squad but the players we have are in no way less exciting. YNWA

I love the way the rest of the Premier League don’t know how good Naby Keita is yet.

Naby Keita is the player Arsenal fans thought Wilshere would evolve into
