Henrikh Mkhitaryan announced his return from injury with a stunning goal against Sunderland.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan limped off during Manchester United’s home game against Tottenham after finding the back of the net, and he missed the following two matches for the Red Devils. After just hitting form, it was a huge blow for the Armenian and many expected him to have a hard time on his return to full fitness.
However, to the contrary, Mkhitaryan looked flawless in his first game after a short spell on the sidelines. He came off the bench against Sunderland and gave the United attack flair and guile that saw them win 3-1.
His best moment came in the 86th minute when he found himself on the receiving end of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic cross. Mkhitaryan, as calm as ever, used the back of his heel to score an stupendous scorpion-kick goal to triple his side’s advantage.
He was lauded by the Old Trafford faithful on social media:

You may enjoy Mkhitaryan’s goal if you watch @BBCMOTD tonight. It’s so good they let him off being slightly offside.

While the Armenian was a shade offside, the Twitterati couldn’t care less purely due to the quality of the finish.
If ever there was time for a linesman to mistakenly keep his flag his down it was for that Mkhitaryan finish. Genuinely incredible. #MUNSUN

That goal from Mkhitaryan is absolutely stupendous. Only a small minority can actually pull that off. What a player he really is.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a special player. Can easily waltz through defences but also has the killer final ball to carve them open.
